Dan was licensed to practice law and admitted to the New York bar in 1982. After being associated with and serving as a partner in a small general practice firm in Syracuse for over 13 years, he established Cantone Law Firm, P.C. during 1995.

Domestic relations dispute resolution has been the dynamic focus of his efforts since the creation of his solo practice. Prof. Cantone has also been an adjunct undergraduate faculty member at Syracuse University continuously since 1985, and more recently at the Syracuse University College of Law and in the Criminal Justice department at SUNY Oswego.

While a long-time veteran in the courts of Onondaga County and surrounding jurisdictions, Dan has received in-depth training and experience in the interdisciplinary practice of Collaborative Law, as well as Divorce Mediation. His broad civil law background also enables existing and new clients alike to benefit from efficient and knowledgeable services in residential real estate transactions, estate planning and administration, and small business formation. Dan’s activities include service as a founding Board member and Past President (2009-2010) of the CNY Collaborative Family Law Professionals, Inc. and participation in the New York State and Onondaga County bar associations, International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, Collaborative Law Association of the Rochester Area, Inc., Academy of Professional Family Mediators,  NYS Council on Divorce Mediation, and the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors as an allied business sponsor.  At the College of Law, he teaches Collaborative Law, Mediation Skills, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Prof. Cantone is also the faculty coach of the ABA Negotiation Competition team. He served for over a decade as a lay Trustee of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parish in Syracuse.

Lori is the residential real estate paralegal for the Firm. Clients will communicate with Ms. Rooke regularly when buying and selling their homes and income properties. Her liaison with lenders, realtors, title insurers, surveyors, and other law offices is instrumental in making each conveyance streamlined and expeditious. Lori is also a substitute parochial elementary school teacher and a long-time volunteer at the Samaritan Center. She attained her B.S. (magna cum laude) and M.S.Ed. degrees from SUNY Oswego.

Kristine is the receptionist for the Firm and confidential assistant to attorney Cantone. She has major responsibilities for initial and on-going client contact and communications. Ms. Liggett also handles scheduling, billings, and account inquiries, whenever necessary. Her organizational and document assembly efforts are focused on Collaborative Law, mediation, general practice, and estate planning clients of the office. Kristine earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and is an accomplished free lance photo editor.
